Over 1,000 Russian troops, dozens of vehicles lost in single day – Ukraine reports new casualties

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Sunday said since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia had lost an estimated 1,108,510 soldiers — killed or wounded — with 1,110 recorded in the past 24 hours.

The body added Russia’s total estimated losses in Ukraine from February 25, 2022, to September 28, 2025, include:

  • Tanks – 11,211 (+7)

  • Armored vehicles – 23,290 (+2)

  • Artillery systems – 33,231 (+45)

  • Multiple launch rocket systems – 1,503 (+1)

  • Air defense systems – 1,223 (+0)

  • Aircraft – 427 (+0)

  • Helicopters – 345 (+0)

  • Operational-tactical drones – 64,385 (+454)

  • Cruise missiles – 3,747 (+0)

  • Boats/ships – 28 (+0)

  • Submarines – 1 (+0)

  • Vehicles and fuel tanks – 63,040 (+131)

  • Special equipment – 3,977 (+0)

The General Staff said Ukrainian forces repelled more than 170 combat engagements across the front line over the past day. The heaviest fighting took place in the Pokrovsk, Lyman, Toretsk, and Novopavlivka sectors.
