Georgia observes State Flag Day on January 14, honoring one of the country’s key national symbols.
The State Flag of Georgia, alongside the national coat of arms and anthem, represents the country’s sovereignty and identity. The current flag was adopted under an organic law of Georgia, which entered into force on January 14, 2004, following the signature of the Acting President of Georgia.
Although the flag was officially reinstated in 2004, State Flag Day was first celebrated on January 14, 2012.
