538 newly confirmed cases of virus infection were detected in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country is 261,018, – said Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Chief of Operations at the Interagency Coordination Council, at a briefing at the Government Administration.
He spoke about the latest statistics available at Covid 19.
"I will inform you about the latest statistical data on coronavirus as of February 5, which has already been published on Stopcov.ge.
As part of the intensive testing, 16,808 studies with tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, including 9,163 studies with antigen tests and 7,645 PCR tests.
Testing revealed 538 newly confirmed cases of the virus in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases detected since the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country is 261,018.
As for the positive rate, as of February 4, the daily rate of positive is 3.2%, for the last 14 days – 4.2%, and for 7 days – 3.75%.
In the last 24 hours, 498 people recovered from the virus, and the total number of people recovered increased to 252,246.
Unfortunately, we have 18 new cases of coronavirus death in the last 24 hours. A total of 3,258 people have died from the virus since the pandemic spread.
Out of 538 new cases of infection detected in the country today, 227 cases have been detected in Tbilisi, Adjara – 25, Imereti – 83, Kvemo Kartli – 35, Shida Kartli – 44, Guria – 16, Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti – 60, Kakheti – 31, Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 9 , Samtskhe-Javakheti – 6, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 2.
At this stage, there are 5,488 active cases of infection, of which 2,287 people are treated in hospitals, including 1,078 in Tbilisi hospitals, 188 in Adjara and 463 in Imereti.
At this stage, 538 people are seriously ill, including 236 in Tbilisi, 45 in Adjara, 134 in Imereti. There are 146 people on artificial respiration, 103 of them in Tbilisi, 6 in Adjara, 16 in Imereti.
274 people are accommodated in clinical hotels, including 182 in Tbilisi, 81 in Adjara and 11 in Imereti.
2,927 people are undergoing treatment for the virus in their homes. 478 people are placed in quarantine areas, including 199 in Tbilisi and 174 in Adjara.
From October 6 to February 4, a total of 22,531 people were transferred from the state border to quarantine areas.
"At this stage, 14,734 people are in self-isolation, including 9,014 in Tbilisi, 789 in Adjara and 1,502 in Imereti," Berdia Sichinava said.
