Twelve individuals were detained today for blocking Rustaveli Avenue in central Tbilisi during a protest on Saturday.

Among those detained are: Shalva Chubinidze, Nino Svanidze, Lara Nachkebia, Tornike Tkhelidze, Levan Margiani, Vakho Machavariani, Saba Khomeriki, Lasha Chkhartishvili, Vakho Sanaia, Levan Jobava, Giorgi Kiasashvili and Davit Gogichaishvili.

Part of the group has been transferred to the Tbilisi City Court.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.
