18th Georgian fighter killed in Ukraine

Berdia Jokhadze is the 18th Georgia fighter who was killed in Ukraine since the outbreak of hostilities back in February of this year, his sister, Bela Jokhadze, confirmed on Thursday. 

“He died on August 12 due to complications arising from the use of chemical weapons by the enemy during the ongoing military operations in Kherson district.

“I would like to thank the representatives of the government of Ukraine and Georgia, my brother’s friends and relatives, for standing by me and for the timely transfer of my brother to his homeland”, Jokhadze wrote on Facebook.

Bela Jokhadze said that his brother’s body would be transferred to Georgia on Friday and would be laid to rest in Kashveti church in central Tbilisi.
