2,236 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in Georgia

According to the information published on Stopcov.ge, within the intensive testing, 23 439 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, including  10 915 PCR tests. 

 

The tests revealed 2 236 newly confirmed cases of the virus in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases detected since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country is 450 149.As for the positive rate, as of August 8, the daily rate of positive is 9.54%, for the last 14 days – 8.74% and for 7 days – 9.75%. 

 

In the last 24 hours, 3,146 people recovered from the virus, and the total number of people recovered increased to 403,762.

 

 In the last 24 hours, 44 new cases of coronavirus death have been reported. A total of 6,128 people have died from the virus since the pandemic spread. Out of 2 236 new cases of infection detected in the country today: 946 cases were detected in Tbilisi, Adjara – 499, Imereti – 177, Kvemo Kartli – 100, Shida Kartli – 90, Guria – 38, Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti – 126, Kakheti – 165, Mtskheta-Mtianeti -56, Samtskhe-Javakheti – 30, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 9.
