Georgia to host Interpol’s 2027 European regional conference

The conference scheduled to take place in Georgia in 2027 is expected to bring together representatives of Interpol’s General Secretariat and Executive Committee, alongside senior law enforcement officials from countries across the European region

Georgia will host Interpol’s 54th European Regional Conference in 2027 after member states voted in favour of the country during the organisation’s 53rd regional conference in Toledo, Spain, the Interior Ministry said.
The decision reflects what it described as effective cooperation between Georgian law enforcement agencies and European partners, as well as Georgia’s growing role and credibility in international police cooperation.
The Georgian delegation attending the conference included Irakli Dondoladze, deputy director of the Central Criminal Police Department, Giorgi Bolotashvili, head of Georgia’s Interpol National Central Bureau, and Shalva Shubladze, police attaché of Georgia’s Interior Ministry in Spain.
Before the vote, Georgian representatives presented the country’s achievements in combating organised crime and drug-related offences, as well as its participation in international operations and the capabilities of its law enforcement system.

The Interior Ministry said hosting an international policing event of this scale would help further strengthen cooperation and partnerships in the law enforcement sector.
