A Women’s March, organized by several NGOs and women’s groups from two political parties, will take place in Tbilisi on November 24 at 15.00. The march will begin at Freedom Square and culminate near the residence of businessman and former Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili.

Organizers aim to draw attention to the growing emigration problem in Georgia, emphasizing its deep social impact. “Emigration has become a severe issue. Families are torn apart, with parents missing their children and generations growing up in loneliness,” the organizers said in their statement.

The march also seeks to address concerns over the country’s democratic challenges, including election fraud and the weakening of democratic institutions, which they believe contribute to the threat of a new wave of large-scale emigration.

Participants are encouraged to bring suitcases or large bags as symbolic props for a performance that will take place near the ruling Georgian Dream party leader, Bidzina Ivanishvili’s residence. The event is organized by groups such as the Women’s Movement and inter-party women’s coalitions, including Coalition for Change, Strong Georgia, and United National Movement.
