Georgia is set to host the multinational military exercise Agile Spirit 2025 from 25 July to 6 August, marking the twelfth time the country has hosted the large-scale defence training event.

The Ministry of Defence of Georgia said on Monday the aim of the exercise is to enhance the readiness, interoperability, and operational capabilities of the participating nations’ armed forces.

The drill will feature several key components, including a command and staff exercise, a joint Georgian-American tactical convoy along the Senaki-Vaziani route, combined live-fire training, special operations forces exercises, and the validation of Georgia’s Combat Training Centre (CTC).

This year, Agile Spirit 2025 will be held jointly in Georgia and the Republic of Turkey. The exercise will be co-led by the Georgian Defence Forces' Western Command and the US Georgia National Guard.

Troops from Georgia, the United States, Turkey, Poland, Germany, Italy, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Lithuania, and Ukraine will participate. Military representatives from Armenia and Japan will join as observers.

The Georgian segment of the exercise will take place across multiple locations, including the NATO–Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Centre (JTEC) in Krtsanisi, the Combat Training Centre and ranges in Vaziani, the Norio and Mukhrovani training areas, and the 2nd Infantry Brigade base in Senaki.

The drills will involve various armoured and air assets from the Georgian Defence Forces, as well as combat vehicles and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters from the US Army. Turkey will contribute AS332 Puma helicopters.

The operation will commence on 21 July with a joint US-Turkish airborne exercise near Adana Province in southern Turkey, ahead of the main training events in Georgia.
