Ukraine reports over 1,000 Russian troop losses, 553 drones destroyed in single day

General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Sunday released updated figures on Russia’s combat losses, reporting more than 1,000 Russian troops, along with hundreds of drones and dozens of artillery systems, were lost in the past 24 hours.

The body said since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Moscow has lost an estimated 1,101,610 soldiers (killed and wounded).

The overall Russian losses between February 25, 2022, and September 21, 2025, are as follows:

  • Tanks – 11,193 (+1)

  • Armored vehicles – 23,281 (+1)

  • Artillery systems – 32,952 (+25)

  • Multiple launch rocket systems – 1,492 (+0)

  • Air defense systems – 1,218 (+0)

  • Aircraft – 422 (+0)

  • Helicopters – 341

  • Operational-tactical drones – 61,598 (+553)

  • Cruise missiles – 3,747 (+29)

  • Warships/boats – 28 (+0)

  • Submarines – 1 (+0)

  • Motor vehicles and fuel tanks – 62,245 (+77)

  • Special equipment – 3,969 (+1)
