250 firefighters, 300 employees of Special Service Department on site to extinguish Borjomi fire

More than 250 firefighters and 300 employees of the country’s Special Service Department are trying to extinguish fire in Georgia’s Borjomi municipality, in eastern Georgia,with the use of more than 50 vehicles and three helicopters, the Administration of the Government of Georgia said. 

“The Defense Forces of Georgia are already involved in fire extinguishing works in Borjomi municipality.  The military personnel of the Eastern Command will join the fire extinguishing works.

The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure has already sent bulldozers and water carriers (trucks with water tanks) to Borjomi valley. At the moment, the mobilization of water carriers from other regions is in action”, said the Government press office. 

The fire in Borjomi erupted on the weekend.
