Parliament announces additional security measures for December 29

The Parliament of Georgia has issued a statement regarding heightened security measures for the presidential inauguration ceremony scheduled for December 29.

“To facilitate the inauguration ceremony of the President of Georgia, on December 29, the Parliament Palace will operate under a ‘yellow security level.’ Visitor access to the Parliament Palace will be restricted.

Media outlets wishing to cover the event must apply for special accreditation from the Parliament of Georgia. Each media outlet will be granted accreditation for no more than two groups.

A designated media space will be set up in the Rustaveli Hall of the Parliament Palace (Building B, 0 floor) for journalists to follow the inauguration proceedings and conduct interviews. The Parliament of Georgia will also provide a signal for the live broadcast of the ceremony,” the statement reads.
