Twenty employees of Geo Sky and thirteen employees of Myway airlines, the two Tbilisi-based companies, have been trapped in Sudan amid violent clashes between two military leaders for power, which have left more than 180 dead since Saturday.

The leadership of the companies on Monday said their employees had been safe with supplies of food and water and were waiting for the establishment of a humanitarian corridor for safe evacuations.

The Georgian foreign office on Monday said ongoing clashes had made talks on the corridor impossible with any of the sides involved in the conflict.

The body noted it was in “constant communication” with the UN and the country’s foreign partners to ensure the safe return of citizens.
