4 convicted for violence in high-profile Khanum Jeiranova case of death

Tbilisi city court has convicted four individuals for verbal and physical violence in the high-profile case of Khanum Jeiranova in 2014, with the latter committing suicide following the assault. 

The Prosecutor General office said the individuals verbally abused and assaulted the woman on September 16, 2014, accusing her of “improper actions for a woman”, which pushed the victim to commit suicidee on September 18, leaving two minor children behind. 

The convicts have been sentenced to 5 years and 6 months in prison.
