Russia loses over 1,000 troops, 44 artillery systems in a day – says Ukraine’s Armed Forces

More than 1,000 Russian troops and dozens of artillery systems were lost in the past day, according to the figures released on Saturday by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The updated data state that since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, Russia has lost about 1,272,360 soldiers in Ukraine, including 1,010 casualties over the past 24 hours.

According to the Ukrainian military, Russia’s total estimated combat losses include:

  • Tanks: 11,737 (+3 in the past day)

  • Armoured combat vehicles: 24,151 (+3)

  • Artillery systems: 38,004 (+44)

  • Multiple launch rocket systems: 1,670 (+1)

Additional losses reported by the Ukrainian military include:

  • Air defence systems: 1,322 (+2)

  • Aircraft: 435 (+0)

  • Helicopters: 349 (+0)

  • Operational-tactical drones: 161,858 (+1,868)

  • Cruise missiles: 4,384 (+0)

The figures also list 30 light speedboats or ships and two submarines destroyed since the start of the war.

Meanwhile, losses in military vehicles and fuel tankers reached 81,812 units (+170 in the past 24 hours), while 4,080 units of special equipment have been destroyed, according to the report.
