7 arrested in Georgia for alleged links with criminal underworld

Seven individuals connected to the criminal underworld have been arrested in Tbilisi, Karel, and Gori, the Georgian Interior Ministry said on friday.

The arrests were made by the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in collaboration with the General Prosecutor’s Office. 

The suspects face charges punishable by up to 15 years in prison. During searches of their homes, police seized computers and mobile phones used for communication with other criminals, both locally and internationally.
