The letter sent by the leader of the United National Movement Nika Melia from prison was read at the ongoing opposition rally in front of the parliament.

The address of the chairman of the UNM says that the goal of the opposition is not the victory of one person, but the victory of the country.

"We have the strength, will and motivation to peacefully overcome the process of radicalization and polarization in the country, to have a better Georgia, freedom, I know that the constant protests of thousands of patriots in the streets of Tbilisi will thwart all plans of the adversary. "He will gain freedom," – Nika Melia said in the letter, thanking his comrades for their support.

In the letter, Nika Melia also refers to his detention and states that he is not going to buy freedom:

"I was asked to pay tribute, freedom rent, I want to address those who have been kidnapped and robbed by our state, freedom is not for sale, they do not trade in freedom, you have to gain freedom and yes, it is sometimes imprisoned, today 4 cell walls are the way to fight for freedom and I have never been "As free as it is now … Gavrilov's night will dawn, Georgia will win and we will win," Nika Melia's letter reads.
