Two foreign nationals arrested in Georgia’s Adjara region for large-scale drug offences

Police in Georgia’s southwestern Adjara region have arrested two foreign nationals for the illegal possession and storage of large and especially large quantities of narcotic drugs, as well as for facilitating their sale, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced on Sunday.
The Ministry added officers from the Adjara Police Department detained G.U., born in 2004 and V.U., born in 1993, during separate operational and investigative activities.
The offence is punishable by up to 20 years or life imprisonment under Georgian law.
During searches of the suspects’ homes, vehicles and personal belongings, as well as other locations, police seized large quantities of narcotic substances prepared for sale, including Alpha-PVP, cocaine and dried marijuana, the Ministry said.
Police also confiscated materials used for packaging narcotics as part of the investigation, the body added.
