The individual was wanted by Turkish law enforcement authorities for multiple serious crime

Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has detained a Turkish national wanted under an Interpol Red Notice, officials said on Tuesday.

Officers from the Central Criminal Police Department’s Adjara Main Division, in coordination with the Counterterrorism Center of the State Security Service of Georgia, arrested the 1996-born suspect, identified as H.O., in Batumi, the MIA press office said. 

The individual was wanted by Turkish law enforcement authorities for multiple serious crimes and had been placed on Interpol’s Red Notice list at their request.

Investigative actions led to the suspect’s apprehension in Batumi. Extradition procedures are currently underway in accordance with Georgian law.
