Officers from the Adjara Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have arrested two individuals on charges of large-scale fraud.

S.O., born in 1995, and L.A., born in 1989, were detained in Batumi on the basis of a court order, the MIA press office said. 

The investigation found that, under a premeditated fraudulent scheme, the defendants allegedly deceived M.M., born in 1997, and unlawfully obtained a large sum of money amounting to GEL 123,800.

Law enforcement officers detained the suspects as defendants following operational measures and investigative actions carried out as part of the case.

The crime carries a sentence of up to nine years’ imprisonment, the Interior Ministry said.
