Officers of the Adjara Police Department under Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested a 47-year-old individual, identified as L.F., on charges of large-scale fraud.

The suspect, who served as director of a tourism company, allegedly misappropriated funds belonging to dozens of citizens by abusing his professional position. Authorities said he promised clients to organize overseas travel tours but failed to deliver the services after receiving payment.

The total financial damage caused to victims amounts to 218,427 GEL.

The suspect was detained in Batumi under a court order following operational and investigative measures.
