Police in Georgia's Adjara region have arrested two people in separate operations on suspicion of possessing and facilitating the distribution of particularly large quantities of narcotics, the Interior Ministry said on Wednesday.
Officers from the Adjara Police Department seized substantial quantities of drugs during searches of the suspects and their homes, as well as from other locations linked to the investigation.
Authorities said the substances recovered included Methadone and Alpha-PVP.
If convicted, the suspects face penalties ranging from up to 20 years' imprisonment to life imprisonment, according to the Interior Ministry.
