ACT survey: 87% of Georgians think Ukraine’s war is Georgia’s war

87% of the Georgian population thinks that “the war in Ukraine is also our war,” says the recent survey by ACT, a global research and management consulting company. 

96% of the population believe that current developments in Ukraine are fully or partially related to Georgia.Per the survey, 63% of the population think that Ukraine will win the war, while 20% do not know who will be the winner.

12% say Russia will win the war, while 5% say there will be no winner in the conflict.In addition, 88% want Ukraine to win the war.

The extremely small number of the country’s population – 1% – wants to see Russia victorious in the Russia-Ukraine war.

According to the survey, 17% of the population expected a war in the occupied territories of Ukraine, 31% in the entire territory of Ukraine, and 49% did not expect Russia to start the war with Ukraine at all.

72% of Georgian citizens fear that if Russia wins in Ukraine, Georgia will be the next. 

51% of respondents believe that Russia may still invade, despite the consequences of the war.

91% of the population believe that the attack on Ukraine by Russia is a war crime.As for the attitude towards Russia, the majority of the population – 84% directly say that “Russia is the enemy.”

The number of those who did not share their view does not exceed 11%.

The survey was conducted by telephone between  March 4-6.

809 people were interviewed by random sampling throughout Georgia.

The margin of  error was 2.4%.
