Agriculture Minister announces 150 more meteorological, hydrological monitoring stations

The Georgian Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, Otar Shamugia, on Monday announced the setting up of 150 more meteorological and hydrological monitoring stations in the country in one year.

 

“Today, 170 such meteorological and hydrological monitoring stations are already operating. In one year we will have another 150 stations. We have plans for the next year to implement specific measures with state and budget funding, which will further accelerate the processes to assess all risk zones”, he told the press. 

 

The official noted the country had 22 glaciers where such processes could be monitored.
