Estonian President Alar Karis reaffirmed Estonia’s support for the Georgian people’s aspirations toward European integration in a recent call with Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili.

“For Georgia’s future, it is imperative for authorities to find ways to rebuild trust in democratic processes,” Karis emphasized in his statement on X. He strongly condemned the violence against peaceful protesters and the threats directed at President Zourabichvili, urging Georgian authorities to uphold democratic principles and human rights.

The statement comes amid ongoing protests in Georgia demanding new parliamentary elections, the release of political prisoners, and sanctions on key figures accused of undermining the country’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
