Georgia’s Deputy Interior Minister Aleksandre Darakhvelidze has held talks with the United States Embassy’s Regional Security Officer,David Hiddleston,in Tbilisi, the Interior Ministry said on Wednesday.

The meeting focused on current and future issues related to bilateral police cooperation, the MIA press office said. 

Darakhvelidze said the Interior Ministry welcomed the deepening of partnership on matters within its remit and expressed hope that joint efforts would lead to more intensive cooperation in the future.

For his part, Hiddleston thanked Darakhvelidze for what the ministry described as years of productive partnership and voiced readiness to further strengthen cooperation between the two sides, the statement said.
