Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchaishvili said on Monday that Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev and Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili were scheduled to discuss all “key issues” of bilateral relations during the former’s official visit to Tbilisi.

“Georgia and Azerbaijan have a close strategic partnership, good neighborly relations. Within the framework of the working visit, the Prime Minister of Georgia and Mr. President will have the opportunity, on the one hand, to discuss all the important issues that we have in our bilateral relations. There is a very wide range of issues in our bilateral relations and it is within the framework of today’s working visit that there will be an opportunity to discuss these issues.

“On the other hand, in the light of regional challenges, the second important topic to be discussed is how the two states should ensure peace in our region and stability and all those issues that exist in multilateral formats and in the background of regional challenges”, said Darchiashvili.

Aluyev’s plane has already landed at Tbilisi airport, with Georgian and Azerbaijani officials scheduled to hold a joint press conference later today.
