The Tbilisi Prosecutor’s Office has launched a criminal investigation following the death of an officer from the State Security Service’s Anti-Corruption Agency. The case is being investigated under Article 115 of the Criminal Code, which covers intentional homicide.

The officer was found dead this morning in their vehicle from a gunshot wound, authorities said. At the scene, authorities recovered a firearm that belonged to the deceased, as well as a note placed on the passenger seat.

“Urgent investigative actions are currently underway,” the prosecutor’s office said, without providing further details.
