Georgian police arrest suspect over serious injury of minor in Tbilisi

Georgian police have arrested a person accused of intentionally causing serious injury to a minor during a conflict in Tbilisi, the Interior Ministry said on Friday.

The suspect injured the minor multiple times with a bladed weapon following an argument and fled the scene.

The injured minor was taken to hospital for medical treatment.

Police said officers arrested the suspect shortly after the incident following operational and investigative measures.

A knife allegedly used in the attack was seized as evidence.

The crime carries a maximum sentence of 13 years in prison.
