Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Akhvlediani said society should help bring about political change through non-violent means

Opposition politician Armaz Akhvlediani has called on the public to support what he described as the peaceful dismantling of the current government in Georgia.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Akhvlediani said society should help bring about political change through non-violent means and stressed the importance of timely and correct steps.

“Society must help peacefully dismantle this reckless regime and bring about change. In Georgia’s circumstances, this must happen only through peaceful means - that is very important,” he said.

Akhvlediani added that it was uncertain when such change might occur and warned against relying solely on favourable geopolitical developments or actions by international partners.

“We should not focus on what might happen elsewhere or among our partners. Instead, citizens and responsible politicians must take responsibility and work to change this deeply corrupt and pro-Russian regime in a timely manner,” he said.
