Students, lecturers and art figures are protesting the policies of the country’s Culture Ministry at the building of Tbilisi State Conservatory, following Minister Threa Tsulukiani’s move to delay the process of electing the rector ten days before scheduled elections.  

 

“We all expected this, I especially, because what happened in other cultural spheres, we all expected it to happen here as well. Now it is necessary for us all to engage our minds and act very coherently. We will all try to solve these things together and not be one-sided. 

 

“Today’s action will not be the last and it is not the first, we are waiting for many people who will join us”, said pianist Giorgi Gigashvili
