US officials sign condolence book at Georgian embassy after death of Patriarch Ilia II

Officials from the US State Department have signed a condolence book opened at the Embassy of Georgia in Washington, D.C. following the death of Ilia II, according to Georgia’s ambassador to the United States, Tamar Taliashvili.
In a statement shared on social media, Taliashvili said that Peter Andreoli, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the United States Department of State, made an entry in the condolence book, expressing sympathy to the Georgian people and highlighting the Patriarch’s significant contribution to the country.
She added that other State Department representatives also signed the book, including Charles Yockey, Special Assistant in the Office of the Secretary of State.
