At least 15,000 Ukrainiians missing in war – International Commission on Missing Persons

The International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) on Friday said that at least 15,000 Ukrainians are now missing due to Russia’s ongoing war against the country, which began in late February. 

Reuters said that the Dutch organization ICMP was created during the wars in the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s, while in July it opened its bureau in Kyiv.. 

The organization leadership claimed that accurate figures had not been available and it could take years. 

Kyiv says that at least 25,000 are missing in the city of Mariupol alone, as the territory had been controlled by Russian troops for several months.
