Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday said over the past week, Russia carried out more than 1,000 attacks on Ukraine using various weapons, ranging from drones to air-dropped bombs and missiles.

Zelenskyy said authorities in Kyiv were continuing to deal with the aftermath of Russian strikes.

“All necessary services are working on the ground. Last night alone, Russia launched over 100 drones against us. Several residential high-rises in different districts were damaged. Sadly, three people have been confirmed dead so far and dozens, including children, were injured. My sincere condolences go to the families”, Zelenskyy said.

The President added that every Russian strike aimed to inflict maximum damage on everyday life.

“This week, attacks targeted residential buildings, civilians, children and critical infrastructure. These are the primary targets for Russia. In just one week, Russia carried out nearly 1,200 drone attacks, more than 1,360 guided aerial bombs and over 50 missiles of various types”, Zelenskyy said.

Despite these attacks, Zelenskyy noted, Ukraine continued to defend itself on the battlefield, in the air and through diplomacy.

“There are significant results from pressure on Russia – the EU’s 19th sanctions package and new US sanctions on Russian oil. We are grateful for our partners’ steps, but it is crucial that we do not stop”, he added.

Zelenskyy highlighted that Ukraine expected coordination of sanctions within the G7 and other partner jurisdictions.

“And, of course, additional tariffs and sanctions are needed against Russia and anyone aiding its recovery. Sustained pressure directly contributes to peace. Thank you to everyone who helps,” Zelenskyy said.
