The Batumi City Court has fully upheld the evidence presented by the prosecution and found a driver guilty in a road traffic accident that resulted in the deaths of three people, the Prosecutor’s Office has said.

According to the prosecution, the court established that on 14 June 2025, the defendant, driving from Batumi toward Sarpi at excessive speed, failed to maintain safe control of the vehicle and collided with a stationary truck. The crash caused fatal injuries to three occupants of the car.

The driver was charged under Article 276, Part 8 of Georgia’s Criminal Code, which covers violations of traffic safety rules resulting in the death of two or more persons.
