Police in Batumi have detained several protesters near the city’s main police headquarters, including Tsiala Katamidze, Vazha Darchia, and Mate Centeradze. According to reports from Batumelebi, approximately 10 activists were arrested during the evening.

The protesters moved to the police headquarters after activist Tatia Abuladze was detained earlier in the day.

According to the demonstrators, the arrests began after activists placed protest stickers on the asphalt, prompting police intervention.

The incident has drawn criticism from civil society groups and activists, who argue that the detentions infringe on the right to peaceful protest.
