Law enforcement officers seized a particularly large quantity of methadone prepared for distribution during searches of the suspects and their temporary residences in Batumi

Georgia’s Interior Ministry has said officers from the Adjara Main Division of the Central Criminal Police Department have arrested citizens of Ukraine and Türkiye on charges of illegally purchasing, possessing and facilitating the sale of a particularly large quantity of narcotics.

Law enforcement officers seized a particularly large quantity of methadone prepared for distribution during searches of the suspects and their temporary residences in Batumi.

Police also confiscated materials allegedly used for packaging narcotics.

The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260 Prima of Georgia’s Criminal Code, offences punishable by up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
