Police in western Georgia have arrested a Ukrainian citizen on suspicion of possessing a particularly large quantity of narcotics and facilitating their distribution.

Investigators said searches of the suspect and a temporary residence led to the seizure of a particularly large quantity of methadone allegedly prepared for sale.

Police also recovered materials used for packaging narcotic substances, which authorities say are linked to the distribution of drugs.

If convicted, the suspect could face up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
