Georgian law enforcement authorities have arrested a Turkish national in the coastal city of Batumi, following an international search request issued through Interpol.

The Interior Ministry said the 1987-born individual, identified by the initials U.I., was detained during a joint operation involving the Central Criminal Police Department and units responsible for combating illegal migration in the Adjara region.

According to officials, the suspect had been wanted by Turkish law enforcement under an Interpol Red Notice in connection with multiple serious crimes allegedly committed in Turkey.

Authorities confirmed that extradition procedures are now underway in line with Georgian law.
