Officers of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with the Adjara Main Division in western Georgia, have detained a citizen of Turkey, born in 1990 and identified as I.A., on charges of illegal possession and facilitation of the sale of narcotic substances.

The Ministry said the suspect was arrested in Batumi following a series of investigative and operational measures. During searches of the suspect’s person and temporary residence, as well as other locations, police seized 91 packages of dried marijuana prepared for sale, along with materials used for packaging narcotics.

The offense is punishable by up to 10 years in prison under Georgian law.
