Police in Batumi, western Georgia, have arrested two citizens of Turkey on suspicion of illegally purchasing and possessing large and particularly large quantities of a psychotropic substance, Georgia’s Interior Ministry has said.

Officers from the Ajara Main Division of the Central Criminal Police detained the suspects - identified as O.T., born in 1986, and M.G., born in 1999, the MIA press office said on Monday.

Law enforcement officers conducted searches of the suspects’ personal belongings and their apartment, during which they seized a particularly large quantity of the psychotropic substance Pregabalin, the ministry said.
