Police in Georgia have detained a Turkish national wanted by Interpol on a red notice, the Interior Ministry said on Wednesday.

Officers from the Central Criminal Police Department’s Adjara Main Division, together with the Migration Department’s Western Division for Combating Illegal Migration, arrested the suspect in Batumi following investigative measures.

The detainee, identified as R.S. and born in 2003, is a citizen of Turkey and was wanted by the Turkish authorities on charges of fraud committed through the use of electronic data processing systems.

The Interior Ministry said the arrest was carried out as a result of operational and investigative actions conducted by law enforcement officers.
