Turkish citizen wanted via Interpol red notice detained in Batumi

The individual was being sought at the request of Turkish law enforcement authorities for a serious crime and had been placed on the Interpol Red Notice list

Officers of the Adjara Main Division of the Central Criminal Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have detained a Turkish national wanted internationally via an Interpol Red Notice.
The detainee - identified as A.Ch., born in 1974 and a citizen of Turkey - was apprehended in Batumi, in western Georgia.
The individual was being sought at the request of Turkish law enforcement authorities for a serious crime and had been placed on the Interpol Red Notice list.
Extradition procedures envisaged by law are currently underway.
