Hadja Lahbib, the visiting Belgian Foreign Minister, on Thursday visited the occupation line in the central Georgian village of Odzisi, separating the country’s currently Russian-occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region from the rest of Georgia.

Georgia’s Ambassador to the European Union Vakhtang Makharoblishvili, and the representative of the State Security Service, have informed the official about the “grave humanitarian situation on the ground”, the state agency said.

The Belgian official, who is visiting Georgia as part of her regional trip, has already met with her Georgian counterpart Ilia Darchiashvili.
