Biden honors 500,000 Americans who have died from COVID-19

US President Joe Biden, along with First Lady Jill Biden, as well as Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, commemorated more than 500,000 Americans who died from COVID-19 with a minute of silence.

Biden's speech was posted on his Twitter page.

"For those who have lost loved ones: I know that no words can drown out the pain, but I hope that you will find comfort in learning that the nation is grieving with you," he said.

According to the Center for Systems Research and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, as of Tuesday morning, February 23, there were 28,188,311 cases of COVID-19 in the United States, 500,236 people died, 6,3003,255 people recovered.
