Biden says that, unlike Trump, he will strongly oppose Russia’s actions

US President Joe Biden has said his administration will oppose Russia's actions more severely than its predecessor, Donald Trump.

"I have made it clear to President Putin that I am not like my predecessor and that the days when the United States succumbed to Russia's aggressive actions are over," – Biden told the State Department.

Among such actions, he mentioned interference in elections and cyberattacks.

Biden noted that if necessary to protect US interests, he would be ready to "make Russia pay a heavy price" for certain actions.

"We will be able to confront Russia more effectively if we act in coordination with our partners," – the president added.
