Bidzina Ivanishvili congratulates Mikheil Kavelashvili on election as President of Georgia

Bidzina Ivanishvili, the honorary chairman of the Georgian Dream party, has extended his congratulations to Mikheil Kavelashvili on being elected President of Georgia. Ivanishvili described Kavlelishvili as a “truly Georgian, patriotic, and dignified leader,” expressing optimism about the country’s future under his presidency.

In his statement, Ivanishvili highlighted the significance of Kavlelishvili’s inauguration for ending political polarization and artificial divisions within Georgian society.

“Today’s election marks the full implementation of Georgia’s European-style constitution, transitioning the country to a fully parliamentary system. Following Mikheil Kavelashvili’s inauguration, the era of polarization, division, and radicalization will come to an end,” Ivanishvili stated.

He expressed confidence that the new president will restore the presidential institution to its constitutional role and play a key part in unifying Georgian society and fostering peaceful coexistence.
