Three helicopters of the Georgian Border Police have been involved to extinguish forest fires near Likani, in Borjomi municipality of central-western Georgia, where the blaze erupted on Thursday.

The Georgian Emergency Management Service had urged the public to show “maximal caution” to prevent fires, as dry and hot weather has been maintained in the country for more than a month.

Rains are forecasted starting on Sunday across Georgia.
