Branislav Ondruš, a Slovakian member of the European Parliament, has expressed his appreciation for the Georgian government’s commitment to open dialogue with both international and domestic partners. Speaking on Georgia’s European aspirations, Ondruš emphasized his respect for the country’s willingness to engage in constructive dialogue despite some disagreements with certain government policies.

Ondruš stressed that while he may not agree with all of the Georgian government’s actions, he admires the administration’s openness to working closely with foreign partners and internal stakeholders. He also highlighted the government’s balanced foreign policy approach toward Russia, the US, and the European Union.

“I meet people across all levels of government and administration who fully support Georgia’s European future,” he stated, adding that he has never encountered any Georgian officials who questioned the country’s desire to become an EU member.

The Slovak MEP criticized what he sees as unfair criticism of the Georgian government from Brussels, reaffirming his support for Georgia as a strong candidate for EU membership. He praised the government’s commitment to European integration, stating that Georgia’s orientation towards Europe should not be questioned.

This statement was made in a letter sent to Georgian TV station Imedi where he further elaborated on the importance of balanced diplomacy and Georgia’s strategic path toward EU membership.
