British MP Tobias Ellwood calls Georgian PM’s comment on Ukraine war “disgraceful”

Disgraceful to hear the prime minister of Georgia – a state seeking membership of NATO and  the EU –  blame NATO for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, British MP Tobias Ellwood tweeted earlier this week, following the Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili’s remark at the Bratislava Global Security Summit. 

 

Garibashvili said Ukraine’s “will and determination” to join NATO had led to its ongoing conflict with Russia. 

 

“This shows Putin’s coercive influence and how seriously unstable Eastern Europe has once again become beyond Ukraine”, Ellwood said.
